About Us
Brentwood Christian is a church for and of people on a spiritual journey. We believe the best way to love God is by loving others. We welcome people from Generations X, Y, Z and all the other letters of the alphabet too. We are committed to social justice, peace and the welcoming of all people; and these commitments are at the heart of our worship and our community of faith.
About Our Worship
While both Sunday morning
worship gatherings at Brentwood have the same focus, each offers diverse opportunities to engage the Sacred.
The Awakening
(Sundays at 11 am) is a new, emerging worship service that has a strong appeal to those looking for fresh, innovative and inclusive worship experiences.
The Traditional gathering (Sundays at 9:00 am) has been a staple at Brentwood since 1960. It features the organ, choir, hymns and other elements one expects to find in most traditional styles of worship.
We also offer a mid-week
Taizé
worship gathering on the last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm
(the
Taizé gathering is
currently on break for the summer but will resume in September).
In Case You’re Wondering
It’s not easy to visit a church for the first time, so here’s some
info that will hopefully be helpful...
Where should I park?
You are welcome to
park in one of the spaces reserved for visitors (these will be on your left as soon as you enter the parking lot).
There is additional parking behind the church building.
Where is the sanctuary?
The sanctuary is located just inside the east doors (these are the first doors you'll see upon entering the parking lot).
What activities are available for my children on Sunday mornings?
If you have children, there are several options to choose from. Children are always welcome in worship. For those who would like, a nursery is available for little ones from birth through two years of age (available from 8:45 am – noon). Following the children’s moment in each worship gathering, three-year-olds through
second graders are invited to participate in
Children Worship & Wonder.
From 10:15-11:00 a.m.,
Connection Classes (Sunday Schools)
are available for children of all ages.
What should I wear?
Feel free to
come as you are and dress as you'd like.
Here at Brentwood, you'll find all different sorts of people from all
different walks of life.
What about Sunday Schools?
Several
Connection Classes (Sunday Schools) for children, youth and adults of all
ages are held from 10:15-11:00 a.m.
Is Brentwood handicap accessible?
Absolutely. Each of the entrances at Brentwood are handicap
accessible (the east doors are the ones closest to the sanctuary), and
reserved parking is available at each of these entrances as well.
Additionally, there is a commercial-grade elevator that allows for easy
access between floors.
Other info:
There is
fair trade coffee, drinks and snacks set up in the gathering area outside the sanctuary, as well as a
Visitor Information Center with informational brochures (including a
map of the building). You’re invited to hang out in the gathering area
(just outside the sanctuary) before worship or to sit in the sanctuary. If you attend The Awakening, there are several images set up throughout the sanctuary that you are invited to reflect on.
